Go Higher's Cumbrian-born Director, Jim Morgan, is a qualified member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI), with more than 30 years' experience in mountaineering and climbing. Jim has been guiding since 1976 has always lived in west Cumbria. As a former hill farmer, he has a gravelly yet warm character. He knows the Lake District intimately, and has made numerous first ascents. He's climbed and guided throughout the UK and Europe and the greater ranges of North America and Nepal. He has been known to climb from sunrise to sunset but generally enjoys a sybaritic approach to mountaineering, making time to enjoy fresh coffee in the morning and a nip of malt in the evening. He prides himself in being able to make the most of every day by finding the sunniest, driest crags and walks. He also knows all the great bathing and watering spots. His qualifications include: Mountaineering Instructors Award (MIA) and Mountaineering First Aid. He is a former member of the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team. Other interests include: tennis, kayaking, skiing, scouting out destinations for Go Higher's next expedition.
